Course Information

This course explores nutrition challenges in advanced illness and end-of-life care. You will learn about issues like poor appetite (the anorexia-cachexia syndrome), why people at end of life often eat or drink less, and how to adapt nutritional care accordingly. 

It covers balancing the use of supplements versus focusing on food (“food first”), and how to set realistic nutrition goals for someone in their final weeks or days of life. This module is informational and meant to complement more in-depth training offered by specialists.
