Course Information

This course is an introduction to palliative and end-of-life care for front-line care staff. It explains the difference between palliative care (improving comfort and quality of life in serious illness) and end-of-life care (caring for someone in their final phase). 

You’ll learn about typical illness journeys, important decisions like DNACPR or ReSPECT orders, and ways to provide holistic care, including good communication and symptom management, for people approaching the end of life. It also stresses caring for the person after death and supporting those left behind.
