Course Information

This course explains what a strengths-based approach to care is and how it differs from focusing on problems or deficits. It teaches that instead of looking at what a person can’t do, you concentrate on what they can do and build on those abilities.

The course covers key terms and frameworks in strengths-based practice, introduces some history and principles behind it, and shows how it aligns with legislation and quality standards. By the end, you will know techniques to ask about someone’s strengths and incorporate positive thinking into risk assessments and care planning.
